The Drum Program at Musicians Institute and The Musicians Foundation are pleased to announce that Marisa Testa, multi-stylist (in Rock, Grunge, Metal and Pop genres) drummer from Farmingdale, NY has been named the winner of the prestigious Evans Drumhead Scholarship for fall 2015.

Marisa will focus on “learning how to read music better and gaining efficient practice skills” during her studies at MI. 

Upon receiving her scholarship award, Marisa acknowledged that she chose to study at MI for “its contemporary music curriculum, and the opportunity to perform and meet others who are interested in bettering themselves musically.

She described her future professional goals as follows: “my dream would be to play drums and sing with a well known musician/artist.

Everyone at MI congratulates Marisa on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to her studies. We look forward to seeing her reach her full potential while at MI.
