Musicians Institute is pleased to announce that Rasmus Bjorlund is the recipient of the first-ever ESP Alex Skolnick Guitar Scholarship. Rasmus comes to MI’s Guitar Program from Norrköping, Sweden with 12 years of  guitar playing experience and a specialization in rock, AOR, fusion genres.

Upon learning of his award, Rasmus explained that he chose to study at MI “because I wanna be in Los Angeles, where everything happens”.  While at MI, he will focus on “getting great insight into the music industry, as well as improving all my musical skills”.

He also shared his future career aspirations, which include: “becoming a session musician, being able to play as many styles and genres as possible, (and most importantly), to work with music”.

Everyone at MI congratulates Rasmus on winning this prestigious scholarship award, and we welcome him as he begins his studies and the many great experiences ahead at MI!

Special thanks to Alex Skolnick and our longtime industry partner, ESP Guitars for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Rasmus with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful careers in the music industry.
