The winner of the Fall 2015 Seymour Duncan Bass Scholarship is Jeremy Bauer, who comes to Musicians Institute from Santa Clarita, CA armed with a serious dedication for the bass and a passion for Rock, Blues, Classic Rock, and Punk genres.
Upon learning about his award, Jeremy states “while attending MI, I hope to soak in every bit of knowledge I possibly can from all my instructors and fellow musicians. I would like to leave MI as a confident and versatile bassist so I can take my skills into the career field.”
Jeremy explains that he chose to study in the Bass Program at MI because “MI is a much more contemporary school than other music schools I’ve looked at, in addition to its great faculty, amazing facilities, and curriculum. I feel like everything about MI is kept up-to-date, from their studios, to the new classes they always add to the curriculum. For example, with the rise of electronic dance music, MI has now integrated a “bass synth” class, which is a very important instrument that bassists should know in today’s world.”
He describes his future goals as “my biggest dream would be to be a touring musician touring the world. The studio is my other love. I’ve always wanted to be an engineer or producer, so I can create my own sounds the way I want them to sound, and I can help other people develop their sound into what they want to sound like.”
Everyone at MI congratulates Jeremy on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to his studies. We look forward to seeing him reach his full potential while at MI.
