The Drum Program at Musicians Institute and The Musicians Foundation are pleased to announce that multi-stylistic drummer (specializing in funk/rock and progressive metal) Victor Singer, has been named the winner of the prestigious Chuck Silverman Memorial Drum Scholarship. The scholarship was created to honor the memory, exceptional talent and artistic career of longtime MI Drum faculty member Chuck Silverman.
Victor comes to MI from from Saint-Omer (near Lille) France, and will focus on “learning how to be a good and versatile musician, who has the capability to adapt to any situation. I want to be ready to face every type of audition with assurance and self-confidence” during his studies at MI.
Upon receiving his scholarship award, Victor acknowledged that he chose to study at MI “to become a professional musician ready to face the real world, and to be in an amazing place for musicians, which is Los Angeles.”
His future professional goals are “to succeed in music as a professional musician, to play live with several artists and/or to do recording sessions. I would also like to collaborate with different drum companies to promote their products, do some clinics or masterclasses, and inspire a new generation of drummers.”
Everyone at MI congratulates Victor on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to his studies. We look forward to seeing him reach his full potential while at MI.
Special thanks to the family and friends of Chuck Silverman for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Victor with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.
