Musicians Institute and the Musicians Foundation are pleased to announce that Clint (CJ) Walker is the recipient of the fall 2014 Melodic Soloing Scholarship.  Clint comes to MI’s Guitar Program from Kansas City, MO in possession of solid melodic soloing skills with a specialization in blues.

While studying at MI, he plans to focus on “learning more about my instrument in addition to some things I already know (but just need better explained) so all the pieces fit together.”

When asked about his future aspirations he adds, “my dreams are to be my own front man, have a band, travel and perform.  I’d also like to do studio records, recording with other artists and doing live shows with various artists. I’d like to be an inspiration for everyone to believe in what they do, even if they think that it’s simply impossible.”

Everyone at MI congratulates Clint on winning this very prestigious scholarship award, and we welcome him as he begins his studies and the many great experiences ahead at MI!

Special thanks to an anonymous MI Guitar Program alumnus (GIT class of 1980) for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Clint with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful careers in the music industry.
