The winner of the fall 2014 MI 35th Anniversary Guitar Scholarship is Seonjoo Lee.  The South Korean native comes to Musicians Institute specializing in blues and pop guitar styles.

Upon learning about her award, Seonjoo explained that she chose to study at MI because “I think MI is a good school to fulfill and to help make my dreams come true. MI provides what  musicians really need.”  She adds “the school has a lot of connections in the record, radio and broadcast industries.  MI students also have opportunities to apply for internships and gain real world experience in the music business thru MI’s classes, career development programs and auditions.”

While at MI, she will focus on “learning about songwriting, how to communicate with other musicians (as well as companies) and gain fuller understanding of the music business.”

Everyone at MI congratulates Seonjoo on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to her studies. We look forward to seeing her reach her full potential while at MI.

Special thanks to MI’s family of Alumni, whose generous donations fund this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Seonjoo with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.
