Victor Kusaka with Maurice Verloop (Bass Program Chair)

Congratulations to fall 2014 ESP Bass Scholarship winner Victor Kusaka who comes to Musicians Institute from Vacaville, CA as a versatile instrumental, metal and punk rock bass player.

Asked why he chose to study in the Bass Program at MI, Victor states: “I chose MI because it’s not a traditional college. It’s very modern and has tons of great resources. I love the fact that it’s right on Hollywood Blvd, where the heart of the music industry is.”  While at MI, he will focus on “studying bass performance obviously, and I also want to study music business.”

He adds that his career goals and musical aspirations involve “touring and the music business, I would love to perform in a touring band or become some sort of band/tour manager.”

Everyone at MI congratulates Victor on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to his studies. We look forward to seeing him reach his full potential while at MI.

Special thanks to our longtime industry partner, The ESP Guitar Company for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Victor with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful careers in the music industry.
