Mathilda Fritzell Awarded The Ross Bolton Memorial Funk Guitar Scholarship!

Mathilda Fritzell

Mathilda Fritzell

Congratulations to Mathilda Fritzell, who has been named as winner of the first-ever Ross Bolton Memorial Funk Guitar Scholarship at Musicians Institute!

The Swedish native came to MI’s Guitar Program in October 2013 already in possession of a versatile array of guitar playing skills in classic rock music, blues, funk and fusion styles.  She chose to study at MI “because I hope to grow as a musician as well as get better with my technique and versatility, connect with a lot of great musicians here and enjoy all the opportunities to play, play, play”!!

It’s clear that Mathilda is doing exactly that, and we look forward to seeing her enjoy all that MI has to offer!

The Ross Bolton Memorial Funk Guitar Scholarship was created to honor the memory, exceptional talent and artistic career of longtime MI Guitar Program (GIT) faculty (1986-2013) and alumni (MI class of 1980) Ross Bolton; and is provided to encourage and support the educational growth of a currently enrolled Guitar Program student.
