Talented guitarist Mathilda Fritzell  has been named as winner of the fall 2013 D’Addario Guitar Scholarship. Coming to Musicians Institute from Sweden, she brings a versatile array of guitar playing skills in classic rock music, blues and fusion styles.

Mathilda decided to attend MI’s Guitar Programbecause I hope to grow as a musician as well as get better with my technique and versatility. I hope to connect with a lot of people and play with a lot of great musicians here. Also, I chose MI because of all the great stuff I heard about the school from my music teachers home in Sweden. To get the opportunities to play, play, play”!!

She sees her education as an important key to achieving her career goals of being able to “play in a cover band, as well as in a band touring with famous artists.  I want to play in big musical productions and festivals, as well as various events such as weddings, parties, restaurants as a professional musician”.

Everyone at MI welcomes Mathilda to the Guitar Program (GIT) at MI, and congratulates her on winning this very prestigious award!

Special thanks to our longtime industry partner, D’Addario Strings and The D’Addario Music Foundation for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Mathilda with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.
