The winner of the spring 2013 MI 35th Anniversary Drum Scholarship is Orange County, CA native Chase Parker who comes to Musicians Institute armed with 13 years of experience drumming in Rock, Rock/Pop and Alternative Rock styles.

Upon learning about his award, Chase explains that he chose to study at MI because “I really want to get better at my instrument, learn from some great musicians, network and meet tons of people to get my myself going in the music industry.  “I hope to learn more drumming techniques, as well as study a variety of styles and genres. I want to learn how to succeed in the industry and what it takes to get a gig”.

He adds “My dream and biggest aspiration is to be a touring musician with a band or artist. I know it can happen. I can’t wait to start school to get started on that, and to get better at my instrument”!

Everyone at MI congratulates Chase on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to his studies. We look forward to seeing him reach his full potential while at MI.

Special thanks to MI’s family of Alumni, whose generous donations fund this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Chase with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.
