Beijing, China native Mingge Lin is the winner of the first-ever Gilt City LA Scholarship at MI. The newly enrolling Bachelor’s Degree in Performance Program student comes to Musicians Institute by way of Las Vegas, having studied classical piano since he was 8 years old.

Upon learning about his award, Mingge explains that he chose to study at MI because “after many years of performing and studying classical music, I now want to learn contemporary music, like fusion-jazz. That’s why I’ve come to MI.” After MI, Mingge plans to “join a band and perform in LA.”

Everyone at MI congratulates Mingge on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to his studies. We look forward to seeing him reach his full potential while at MI.

Special thanks to our new industry partner, Gilt City LA for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Mingge with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.
