MI/MF Sponsored Class at The Grammy Museum: World Beat Rhythms (WBR)

The Grammy Museum, Tuesday, Dec. 11th– 150 third graders from Wonderland School were treated to a fantastic hands-on class in world rhythms taught by World Beat Rhythms (WBR) co-founders and drum/percussion clinicians (MI instructor) Ed Roscetti, and (former MI instructor) Maria Martinez.  

They were accompanied by (MI instructor) Justin Apergis on bass and Nick Adams on percussion.

The energized and excited students learned about the lineage and sounds of various types of drums and percussion, call and response, and musical styles from West African music, Brazilian Samba, American funk, Cuban music and more.

The inspired students were invited on stage to experience the power of rhythm first hand…the result was “wow”!

In addition to Musicians Institute and The Musicians Foundation, the event was co-sponsored by: Drum Workshop, Remo, Hal Leonard Publications, Latin Percussion, Regal Tip.
