Seymour Duncan Guitar Craft Scholarship Winner: Wei-Hua Chaing

Wei-Hua Chaing (lt) with GCA Program Chair Rob Nishida (rt)

The winner of the fall 2012 Seymour Duncan Guitar Craft Scholarship is Wei-Hua Chaing, who comes to Musicians Institute from Taiwan.

Wei-Hua explains that he chose to study at MI’s Guitar Craft Academy  because “I am a beginner in the field of guitar building, so I really hope to learn everything from the most basic level and then study to tremendously improve my knowledge.  I chose MI because this school is famous for their teaching and professionalism in the industry.”

His goals include “building an electric guitar with active pickups and a tremolo system.  My future dream is working in a guitar company.”

Everyone at MI congratulates Wei-Hua on this achievement, which marks a great beginning to his studies. We look forward to seeing him reach his full potential while at MI.

Special thanks to our very special industry partner, Seymour Duncan for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Wei-Hua with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry. The scholarship was created thru the generous support of Seymour Duncan Pickups and Pedals to honor innovative guitar legend Seymour Duncan.
