2012 Paiste Cymbals Scholarship at Musicians Institute

The Musicians Foundation is pleased to announce the 2012 Paiste Cymbals Scholarship to be awarded to a newly enrolling student in the Drum Program at Musicians Institute for Fall 2012.

The winner of the Paiste Cymbals Scholarship  should possess a mature musical approach, with an emphasis on expressive cymbal technique. The scholarship award of $1,000 will be applied as a tuition discount for the Fall 2012 quarter, the winner will also receive a new cymbal set from Paiste.

Sennheiser Vocal Scholarship at Musicians Institute Announced!


     The Musicians Foundation is pleased to announce the Sennheiser Vocal Scholarship to be awarded to a newly enrolling student in the Vocal Program at Musicians Institute for Fall 2012.

The scholarship is generously sponsored by MI scholarship partner, Sennheiser USA as a part of it’s sustaining commitment to support music education.

The winner of the Sennheiser Vocal Scholarship should demonstrate excellence in both vocal and performance skills (in any genre).  The scholarship award of $1,500 will be applied as a tuition credit for the Fall 2012 quarter.

Seymour Duncan Sponsors Bass Scholarship at Musicians Institute!

The Seymour Duncan Bass Scholarship at Musicians Institute was created thru the generous support of Seymour Duncan Pickups and Pedals to honor innovative guitar legend Seymour Duncan.

The $2,000 scholarship (tuition credit) will be awarded in Fall 2012 to a newly enrolling intermediate or advanced student (US or non-US citizens) in the Associate of Arts in Performance (Bass) program at MI who demonstrates overall outstanding musicianship, passion for the instrument and the potential for developing their own individual sound or unique voice on the instrument in any style or genre.  Applicants must also demonstrate financial need.

The deadline for the scholarship application is August 24th, 2012.

The Seymour Duncan Guitar Craft Scholarship at Musicians Institute was created thru the generous support of Seymour Duncan Pickups and Pedals to honor innovative guitar legend Seymour Duncan. 

The $2,000 scholarship (tuition credit) will be awarded in Fall 2012 to a newly enrolling student (US or non-US citizens) in the Guitar Craft Academy (GCA) Certificate program at MI who clearly articulates their career goals within the music products industry and demonstrates verifiable financial need.

The deadline for the scholarship application is August 24th, 2012.

Multi-Grammy award winning bassist John Patitucci brings his trio to the Jazz Bakery Series at Musicians Institute for one night on May 26th. The virtuosic Patitucci has performed throughout the world leading his own band, and with jazz luminaries Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Wynton Marsalis, Joshua Redman, Hubert Laws, Sting and many more.

Ticket Information

Musicians Institute students (no outside guests) should sign up (first come, first served) by Thursday, May 24th at 5pm at the MI Student Affairs Office to receive free admission (maximum of ONE ticket per student).  After the LIMITED free ticketing allotment has been filled, MI (and all other) student tickets are $15 with valid school ID.
