Talented guitarist Nicholas Baraban has been chosen as winner of the spring 2012 Schecter Jerry Horton Guitar Scholarship, named in honor of the Papa Roach guitarist.
Coming to Musicians Institute from Australia, Nicholas enjoys playing a wide array of blues oriented styles from Delta to Psychedelic to Rock.
Asked why he decided to attend MI’s Guitar Program, he states that he wanted to “become a better musician and begin to master my instrument as well as be a better performer.”
Nicholas sees these skills as an important key to achieving his dream of one day being able to “record and perform my own music and to turn it into a long term career; as well as producing, being a session musician, jingle writing and song writing.”
Everyone at MI welcomes Nicholas to the Guitar Program (GIT) at MI, and congratulates him on winning this very prestigious award!
Special thanks to our longtime industry partner, Schecter Guitar Research for generously sponsoring this scholarship, which helps to provide talented students like Nicholas with the support, tools and recognition they need to launch successful and creative careers in the music industry.
