Congratulations from everyone at Musicians Institute to Stanley Clarke for last night’s Grammy win in the Contemporary Jazz Album category: The Stanley Clarke Band, “The Stanley Clarke Band”!
The collaborative album features Hiromi, Ruslan Sirota and Ronald Bruner, Jr. as well as Stanley’s iconic and virtuosic talents as bassist and leader.
Stanley is a recipient of an Honorary Doctorate from MI and is currently a Board member for our non-profit organization: The Musicians Foundation as well as the creative force and sustaining sponsor of the Stanley Clarke Scholarship at MI since 2002.
This year’s Grammy nod is well deserved for an innovative, expressive and fresh take on the contemporary jazz idiom!
