The Kevin Hernandez Memorial Guitar Scholarship is provided to encourage the educational growth of a student entering the Associate of Arts in Performance (Guitar) program at Musicians Institute in Spring 2011.
The scholarship was created to honor the memory of Kevin Hernandez, who possessed a tremendous love, dedication and passion for the guitar during his lifetime.
The $1,000 scholarship will be awarded to a newly enrolling GIT student who displays passion, talent and outstanding musicianship within the Latin-Rock or Latin–Pop genres.
The deadline for the scholarship application is March 14, 2011.

We need so much more in the way of the creative arts. While our country and our industries are being eviscerated by the 2 percent who hold all the wealth,we loose more everyday.I love to see great souls give whatever they have to keep the creative spirit alive.I encourage anyone who has any wherewithal to consider giving to schools like this one to keep dreams alive. We can’t let them bury our right to be free. And through the guitar,I have found my sanctuary to run to.This gift should be for all,and educational schools like the Musicians Institute need to be sacred forever. Keep your horns up, Light up the Sky!
